Made in Pakistan
Design Museum London, 2006
This costume made football is part of a larger commissioned project celebrating the 2006 World Football Cup. The brief was ‘football’.

The patches of this ball relate to the geometry of the Islamic mosaics as a reference to Pakistan, where 80% of the worldwide production of footballs is made. Made in Pakistan aims to make the country of origin evident through the design and final appearance of the ball. In a globalized world where we cannot identify the origin of many of the objects we live with, this football celebrates the importance of its origin and identity.
