Prototypes and Experiments 2
3/3/09
The Aram Gallery is continuing its series of displays made up of prototypes and experiments sourced from designers’ studios. The displays form a long-term and ever-changing exhibition, with a new piece brought into the gallery each time another is sold or returned to its owner. Prototypes and experiments are critical elements in the development process of any new design.

Time Out Magazine and Design Museum Tank
15/12/08
Time Out magazine and Design Museum London commissioned four London designers --Sam Buxton, Daniel Eatock, Gitta Gschwendtner and Roger Arquer-- to develop an installation based on the subjects of Nightlife, Food, Consume and Film.
Under Film, Roger Arquer revives classic imagery taken from well-known film stills and superimposes them on iconic London locations. Through this he transforms the city into an improvised but exciting film set: Kink Kong is now on top of the Gherkin building, Woody Allen and Diane Keaton look at the London Bridge, and the helicopters of Apocalypse Now fly over Canary Warf.
The use of film within the installation creates a cloud that evokes the fantastical and aspirational world of film. By imposing Hollywood images within a familiar landscape it challenges reality and allows the visitor take a glimpse into a parallel, fantasy London.
The installation is on from 15 November 2008 to 15 January 2009, at the Design Museum Tank.

Exhibition at H2O
14/12/08
Variacions is Arquer´s first solo exhibition, organized by H2O Gallery in Barcelona.
Roger has selected three projects with a common pattern: all three present a collection of pieces based on the idea of variations. Birdland, FishBowls, and MouseTraps are a compilation of birdhouses, fish bowls and mousetraps respectively. Each piece has it’s own identity, while together create a family.
Dates: from 17 to 23 February 2009
Opening: Tuesday, 17 February 2009, at 6.30 pm
